How to Apply
Throughout the TFC financial aid process, you will complete several on-line documents. To insure you receive priority financial aid packaging, please complete the following steps
| STEP 1: |
Complete the online FAFSA (Free application for Federal Financial Aid). Sign application by using your PIN at www.fafsa.ed.gov. 2009-2010 FAFSA may be completed after January 01, 2009. This is an annual application. Students must be enrolled at least 6 hours to receive aid. TFC School Code Number is 001596 |
| STEP 2: |
Georgia Residents; apply for state aid online Complete the GSFAPPS application at www.gacollege411.org. This is for GTEG and HOPE scholarship and only has to be completed one time. |
| STEP 3: |
Complete Toccoa Falls College (TFC) application. Application is available under Financial Aid Forms or myTFC. |
| STEP 4: |
Apply for Outside scholarships through the TFC database. Most scholarships will not be awarded until after your initial award letter. Please inform financial aid if you are awarded any scholarships so that your financial aid package will be adjusted accordingly. Typically scholarships replace or reduce student loans. |
| STEP 5: |
Allow time for processing your applications. After we have received your FAFSA and TFC Applications, typically financial aid award letters are mailed or made available online to students within 14-21 days after the file is complete. |
| STEP 6: |
Complete your Financial Aid File 1. After you receive your award letter, review all information carefully. 2. Accept or decline aid that has been awarded. 3. You must complete BOTH of the following: a. Master Promissory note at www.dlenote.ed.gov (you will need your pin). b. Entrance Counseling at www.dl.ed.gov. 4. Parents must complete BOTH of the following: a. Master Promissory note at www.dlenote.ed.gov (you will need your pin). b. Complete Parent PLUS Loan Request form and return to Financial Aid Office. (Available on the forms online page of the website) 5. Sign, date, and return award letter by mail or electronically by expiration date. |
