The Bible clearly tells us that spiritual maturation comes through ministry service (Eph. 4:11-16). As we involve ourselves in the Great Commandment to love God and others (Matt. 22:34-40) and the Great Commission to make disciples (Matt. 28:16-20), we experience victories and challenges that contribute to our own spiritual growth. Therefore, at TFC we not only encourage involvement in ministry, evangelism and missions, we require participation in mentored Student Ministry experiences.
The purpose of the Student Ministry program is to challenge students toward spiritual and moral growth by involving them in practical Christian ministry. It also provides opportunities for students to learn and gain experience outside of the classroom setting. Students are to learn how to serve the church and all humanity through practical ministry experience.
Another avenue of ministry and outreach is through the Student Government Association’s (SGA) Special Projects Team. One overall purpose is to enable students to be active in their faith and spread the name of Jesus Christ in their current community. We (SGA) want to break down the barrier between Toccoa Falls students and the Toccoa community. Some of the projects include taking trips to the Boys and Girls Club, visiting Senior Care centers in Toccoa, and landscaping in Downtown Toccoa. Because of the love of Jesus Christ we are called to love others with the same message as we received from Jesus. SGA believes that students have the power to impact their community all around them, on a regular basis.
