Director of Admissions

Position Summary: This fulltime leadership position is responsible for the recruitment, admissions, and enrollment support of Toccoa Falls College. Primary responsibilities include: student recruitment, managing personnel in each of the areas noted above, while assisting in the financial aid packages of the prospective student according to the College policies and within regulatory guidelines. This position reports to the president.

Position Responsibilities: Implement the student recruitment portion of the college’s marketing strategic plan in a way that translates the college’s mission and vision statements into sound student recruitment strategies; Develop and operate the budget for the Office of Admissions; Supervise the daily operations of the Office of Admissions including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of professional and student staff; Manage the travel schedule of Admissions staff; Provide services for a limited number of assigned applicants including file completion, financial aid, payments, course selection, and room assignment; Make decisions on admission based on established criteria and reference checks where indicated; Oversee institutional student financial aid awarding conducted by Admissions Counselors and refer questionable cases to the President; Implement successful Preview Weekend programs; Collaborate with extracurricular program staff to recruit students specifically suited for those programs, such as the coaches in the intercollegiate athletic program to enhance the recruitment and enrollment of student athletes; Assist Student Development in planning an effective orientation; Foster a supportive relationship between the Office of Admissions, faculty, staff, students, and the community; Assist with the design and production of marketing literature; Oversee the administration of mass mailings including fulfillment, database management, postage, and vendor relations; Monitor the marketability and accuracy of the college website and make recommendations to the President; Collaborate with the Office of Public Relations to coordinate advertising efforts; Provide necessary reports to the President; Participate as an active member of committees, as appropriate, to ensure that the needs of the Office of Admissions are represented and addressed.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred with evidence of further professional development. Five years of progressive management experience in a related higher education setting. Successful experience in student recruitment, marketing, and administration of college admissions required.
